The minimum coating thickness for Class 1 wire is 0.28 oz/ft² (85 g/m²) on each side of the wire, or a total of 0.56 oz/ft² (170 g/m²) for both sides combined. 2. Class 3 Galvanized Wire: Class 3 Galvanized Wire is dipped in a zinc coating twice providing optimal performance and lasting 3 times as long as Class 1.Class 3 galvanized wire has a thicker coating of zinc compared to Class 1 galvanized wire. The minimum coating thickness for Class 3 wire is 0.80 oz/ft² (245 g/m²) on each side of the wire, or a total of 1.60 oz/ft² (490 g/m²) for both sides combined. This makes Class 3 wire suitable for applications where high corrosion resistance is required.
